Thursday 05th April 2007Journal brought to you by a hungover SophieI swear I am NEVER EVER getting the greyhound with a hangover again. It is not a good move. I really should not take advantage of the fact that Tami doesn't drink and drink all her free drinks as well. It is very very bad. Oh well I suppose at least I am preparing myself for university...When we got to the bus station we got to pick up our free photo from the night out. Basically we had all crammed in this photo after the first bar, in this garden area outside. Tami and I had got prime position on this bench at the back but then all these big boys came in front of us, giving eachother piggy backs and so in the photo you can just about see my face and then half of Tami's. It is hilarious. The journey passed quickly and we were soon in Brisbane. Our backpackers is called Brisbane City Backpackers and is bright orange. It is huge and there is this cool pool that has got a glass underwater bit so when you walk by it you can see the magnified legs of people standing up in it. Our room however was foul. We found out we were the only two girls in it with six guys and it reeked. There was old food and stuff all over the floor. No Mother, I am not talking about my room at its worst state or Tami's at its worst state (and we all know how disgusting that i) but seriously foul. It was hideous. Furthermore the air con leaked next to my bed so the floor was damp and musty and mouldy and it made me want to be sick. Once we had settled into our room we decided to go to sleep, which is exactly what five of the guys had decided to do as well. It was hilarious. When the last boy walked in about 3pm he must have thought what on earth! Eventually we dragged ourselves out of bed and went into the city centre to have a look around. We bumped into Holly on the way round to the supermarket and she was looking for a doctors. This girl is always ill! We spent about 2 hours in town and then went to find our way back to the hostel. I swear my sense of direction has seriously improved since coming away as I found our way back straight away. You would be so proud of me parents. Map reading and using the stars to find your way home are such useful skills to have.Back at the ranch we cooked dinner (I had to enlist the help of some kind gentleman to help turn on the cooker as I am completely stupid and couldn't work it out. I even turned it off by mistake as well and then had to get him to turn it on again! Ooops.) We went on the internet and then went to sleep. This is justified because we were so tired after this heavy night! The air con leaked all night and one of the guys had to come and turn it off because it was annoying me. Tami said I was lazy because he had to come all the way over from the other side of the room and climb on another bed to turn it off when it was right by me, but I was tired and couldn't work it out.... PS It should be announced that Miss Tamara Russell has lost yet another pair of sunglasses by leaving them behind at our last hostel..
