Sophie And Tami Were Here
Thursday 19th April
Journal entry brought to you by Tami (reunited with the AWOL passport)
Woke up this morning nice and early to catch our bus up to Mission Beach. I had to fanny around going to the post office, bus shelter, back to the post office and then back down in time to catch the bus to make sure I had my passport. When I definately had it, we boarded the bus and headed up to Mission. The journey passed without event. When we got there, a bloke called Dave was there to pick us up and take us to the hostel, so we all piled into the hostel's van, expecting there to be quite a drive, as most hostels that offer pick ups do so because their location means that tired backpackers couldn't walk there. This was not the case for Mission Beach Backpackers Lodge - it was literally 100m from the bus stop! And they PICKED US UP!! We were like "We SOOOO could have walked that!!"
We checked into our room (which was a twin room! For the bargain price of $1 more each per night, we had a private room with a sink and air conditioning! NOT A DORM!!! - Know what that means? No getting woken up by drunk roommates at stupid o'clock. No having to worry about waking people up when we come in at stupid o'clock. No having to make conversation with people when all you want to do is read or sleep. No worrying about things getting misplaced or stolen. It was AWESOME.)
We were both pretty exhausted, so all we did that night was play cards and go to bed. Not eventful or exciting I'm afraid. But completely necessary because we were both so tired. Plus we had to be up early the next day for our White Water Rafting in Tully. Woop!!
