We had a 6-hour trek to Panboche which was a little tough as I was still recovering from stomach ache from Namche.
The journey consisted of 4-hour of solid uphill climbe and 2-hour of "Nepalese flat" trek (i.e. Still some incline). On the way up, we saw Mount Khang Tegha, the top of which shapes, amazingly, like a white lion (see blog cover image)!
The weather was good so that helped keeping our spirit up. When we were resting, we saw a few elderly people who are in their sixties! I couldn't resist telling them that "I wish my grandparents are this cool!" From their facial expressions, i'm not sure if they are pleased to hear that or annoyed that i made them feel old! :P
We also bumped into a group of cancer survivors from the US and a group of six-formers from Plymouth, England, and a group of German people from Frankfurt, all of whom were on the way back from the Everest. You'd come across different kinds of people on this trek and it shows you the appeal of the Himalayas.
We finally reached Panboche and felt absolutely knackered! Luckily there was a "sun room" on the second floor of our lodge where we could lay down and enjoy Sagarmatha (Nepalese for Everest), Lhotse and Ama Dablam at sunset. What a way to end a day!
