Today was check-out time from Verandahs and time to leave Auckland to travel north to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.
But before we checked out at 10 o'clock we got a whole bunch of things sorted;
We went through our backpacks and went downtown to the post office and sent some pieces of clothing each home, as we realised we had packed too much and that we won't use some of the clothes we brought. Luckily we got away with it a lot cheaper than expected!
Before we left the hostel we bought an Intercity Flexipass, (yeah, the buses here are called Intercity, so it feels just like Stoke) which is a bus pass where you buy how many hours you want on it and for every trip you go on, you pay with hours, how many hours it takes to get there. The maximum amount of hours is 60, but you can top it up with hours whenever you want. You can pretty much go anywhere on both Islands with it and hop on - hop off whenever and wherever you like, which is perfect and it saves you a lot in transportation!
So we put our not as heavy backpacks on and headed down for the bus station and the 5 hour long bus ride that was gonna take us to the Islands.
I was thinking I could sleep on the bus, but as soon as we got out of the city there was just too much along the way outside the window to take pictures of and just stare at and if you looked away, even for a second, you would miss out on yet another postcard-view. Even when it's raining, which it did for basically the entire bus ride, the nature here is so beautiful!
Dave must have done a little rain dance on the bus though, cause as soon as we stepped off the bus in Paihia the sun came out.
Paihia is a lovely little place just alongside the coastline and it's surrounded by lots of small, and big, Islands.
Our accommodation for the night, Alfa Boutique motel, was just a short walk away and very spacious and nice, with a TV!
We were quite tired from the travelling, so we walked to the supermarket and got some BBQ things, had dinner and watched TV until we fell asleep, good day!
Tomorrow we are moving to a hostel just a couple of minutes from here, where we will be staying for 2 nights, called the Pickled Parrot and I'm gonna try and get Dave in the water :)
Hugs and Kisses,
Jenny and Dave

Susanne Mammi Hello! Jeez what you travel around! :) You never know how much clothing you need when you travel, you have the misfortune of having to carry around, it always, so how lucky that you were able to send home a bit and it at a good price. You answer well you for snakes, I have seen on a program where the fool Ola-Conny asked if you have snakes here 696 times in 15 min. Do not ask Jenny! they will believe you are from Sweden and Ullared. Kiss hug love you. Take care of each other. mommy Sussi
