One advantage of all that rain is that now, in the sun, we are surrounded by snow capped peaks begging to be explored.
We decided to change camp sites yesterday to treat ourselve with a very comfortable camper kitchen in which to wait for the weather to improve. Free internet, big sofas and TV, and a hot spa...heaven in between the cold drops. Maxim and Callum walk around in Tshirt and have played for hour with a new kid who just left. Once the wash has dryed, we will go for a walk on Mt Iron, which should give us a great view over the area. It is amazing here how we can be in the middle of a rain forest on day and in an alpine landscape the next. I understand more and more why Peter Jackon choose this location for the Lord of the Rings. It is like a world concentrate here.
We will leave tomorrow to go to Queenstown and then make our way slowly back to Christchurch and the next leg of our many legged journey
