there are images of Lake Tekapo that will stay in my mind: the bright midnight stars reflected in the black waters of this beautiful lake, the first morning swim of a couple of ducks in the early morning mist...We then drove to a charming place called Geraldine and spent a night in the Peel Forest, calm green and coold. The coast looked sunny and warm from here, once we had our fill of clean forest air. There is a lovely little place called Akaroa (I love those Maori names) It is supposed to be the favorate place of the Manaia, powerful creatures in the maori culture, here swims the very rare Hector Dolphin, but most unexpected of all this place has a decidly french flavor. The police station is called the Gendarmerie it has a boucherie and some really nice french restaurantss and today during a bicycle race called le race (100 k from Christchurch to here through a very hilly landscape, I spotted some berets and baguettes....The camp site overlooked a bay which glitters under the sun. The kids had a ball playing with children from at least three different countries while we gave the campervan a good clean. I will miss our home on wheels.

Nicholle I discovered a German bread shop on my morning run today. I had to keep running or I would have run right in! I wonder if it's as good as Choux baguette ?
Mary Just to say I have checked out the latest entry of photos and I am sitting at my desk at work and just trying to visualise the lake. I'm so glad things are going well. Belated Happy Birthday Paul. I hope you had a nice one. Love to you...Back to work now! x
