Today we woke pretty much as we always do, Steph first, checking her emails. We decided it was too early to get up so we stayed in bed until 0850 and trundled down to breakfast. Food was excellent as usual!
I decided to go to the toilet, on my way back I heard 'good morning Mr Bridge'... I looked around to see the concierge guy, bending over the desk, wiggling his hips and with a kick of his left leg, 'how are you today?'. This entertained me greatly for the day, camper than a tent sale at Bradburns!
We had decided to take a trip to Vallee De Mai, a virgin tropical forest. This meant a trip on the local bus which was an experience in itself. Safe and fuel efficient driving, errrrr no! 5 Rupees each and then 20 euros each to get in. I was skeptical about this, I didn't know what to expect but how wrong I was. It was amazing, stunningly beautiful natural forest.
Walking around was peaceful, lots of birds, geckos and skinks and something I was so pleased to see in its natural environment, a Wolf Snake. Wow!!!!! Made my day!!!!
We waited for the bus on the main road, again the journey back was an experience. There were a lot more people on this time, we were stood up, then we managed to get seats but separate, then people got off and alot more got on and so on. Eventually after musical chairs we got to sit together. The speed these drivers go is unreal considering there is a gulley at the side of the road. Fascinating and s*** your pants scary.
The rest of the day is sketchy!
