When we left Aeroskobing this morning just before 0900 the sun was out, it was warm and a very light easterly breeze was wafting through the basin we had enjoyed for two nights. Out into the channel and along the top of the island of Aero we cleared the most western point, with its lovely lighthouse, in sunshine.
That lasted about ten minutes more before grey 100% cloud cover replaced it and within half an hour it was raining. The remainder of the 30 mile passage was in showers and poor visibility until we closed the fjords around Sonderborg.
The wind had backed from East to West in the space of three hours, the barometer had dropped four millibars - we are in for a blow!
Entering the harbour we found a space alongside, rather than a box, which would be comfortable in the forecast Force 9 NW for tonight. It was raining and having tied up we shared a beer and our sandwiches under the hood in the cockpit in yet another new destination This was to be our last in Denmark, having been to six islands in the Danish archipelago, before we cross to Germany, when the weather permits, with one planned stop in the Schlei estuary before taking the Kiel canal again at Holtenau.
