Ahhh Pariii - we meet at last! I've dreamed of visiting this city ever since I can remember, and now that I'm finally here - it has absolutely lived up to all my expectations.
Our first few hours in the city were spent trying to find our hotel - it certainly isn't as easy to navigate around as London is, but at least you're in gorgeous surroundings whilst trying to figure it out.
We were so relieved once we had checked into our hotel as the rooms are just beautiful and the staff are extremely helpful. Its also in such a great location being right next to L'Arc de Triomphe (thanks Nada & Tony for the recommendation!).
After settling in, we got ready and made our way over to Le Marais - a very chic area of Paris where the locals shop and dine, to catch up with Jen & Andrew for dinner and drinks. After an amazing 3 course meal and a couple bottles of vin rouge - we then headed over to a bar on the other side of the trendy cobble-stone street. A few mojitos later and as the bar was closing, we made our way to yet another bar where a few more cocktails went down all too smoothly! As the night progressed and our confidence grew, Jen and I found ourselves attempting to make french conversation with many of the locals in the area - all of whom were only too happy to have a chat - it could be that the French have been falsely accused for being rude or it could have just been the fact that we were in the gay district of Paris but everyone we came into contact with was only too friendly!!
We had such a great night, but after getting back to the hotel at around 3am, I couldn't help but wonder how Jen & Andrew would pull up for their cycling tour the next morning!
