Round The World Trip 2006
Well, since Canberra (a really boring place during the week), we hit Sydney and stayed in a backpackers hostel. An arranged visit to a local bar meant we could socialise with the other peops. Everyone is so friendly, it's quite a refreshing change from London.
After a little too much to drink, we apparently made our way home from "The World" night club in the hub of town.
Next day, went for a 6 hour trek through Sydney, going up the viewing tower, which is the same height as the Eiffel Tower. Also went to see the Sydney harbour bridge, but at $180.00 we weren't persuaded to climb it.
The Opera house was very impressive and the surrounding area was buzzing as the sun went down.
Next day, after a Hungry Jacks (Burger King) for breakfast, we travelled further north, getting a little lost in Newcastle, to Nelsons Bay.
This is the best night we've had so far. Beautiful beaches, sleeping amongst a huge variety of nature and some crazy Aussie's. Went skinny-dipping in the sea at about 1am after guzzling a few large VB's. Even saw my first Wild Koala.
After a truly tasty fried brekkie at one of the waterfront Cafes, I'm about to start the stationwagon up and see where it takes us next.
