Bring it on . . .
As you can see, im all prepped and ready for Hindi speaking people in the dark.
Monday I spent running lots of errands, like getting shoes re-heeled, buying head torches etc. So it was good, made me feel like i ticked many a things off my to buy list.
Tuesday I spent seeing various friends and family. My Granda being amongst these people. What a pleasent visit that was, where I was informed that I am not afraid to quit a job(which on my journey home I totted up my jobs, we are on roughly between 17-20 jobs so far, but in my defense there are lots of reasons such as temp contracts, working 5 jobs at once in London etc) So, as I don't think my Granda understands that I am travelling, I think he believes I've quit my job for a two week holiday or something. Therefore, spent his time telling me that I should use my car to earn money by being a deliverly driver. I tried to explain that im not changing careers just taking 10months off to travel. The conversation ended when I was leaving(naturally!) but when my Granda realised that on my depart I am car less. So the dream of me being a deliverly driver ended before it even had a chance to begin.
I spent a while speaking to Susie(Laura's mammy) about stuff and travelling etc. She puts her trust in me to look after her daughter! and her daughter after me of course. Like many people Susie asked if I miss work etc. You know, like am I doing the right thing walking away from £25,000 a year to travel to come back to nothing. The answer will always be yes, and with regards to friends and family yeah ill miss them but whats 10months, it will fly by. The work issue, well on my 3rd last day of work on my way out the door home i had the manager ask me to go with him, we arrived at a letter box attached to the wall where people post their complaints cards, I was asked to put my arm in the letter box slit thing to fish out the cards coz my arms were skinny enough to perform such a task. Had i not completed this task, in my 10.5hour shift that day i would not of completed anything! So work wise, well what can i say. I assured Susie though that i will be collecting Laura from Delhi airport, it still hasnt hit me that im going, and thats when ill next see Laura, after 2months alone in India, fluently speaking Hindi no doubt by then.
Going away, is also a wee walk down memory lane, as i am clearing out all my wardrobes, drawers etc and chucking out practically anything that isnt clothes, shoes, bags, training equipment or my study files. I have come across all sorts. The diarys off when i was in London, like not dear diary diary but a organise my life diary. I mean i had every shift ever worked in London wrote in there. I would start roughly one job between 6 and 8am, finish say 5pm ish then start my next job at 5.30pm ish and finsih my second job of the day between 1 and 6am ish depending which company it was. I did at least 12hour shifts everyday normally on average 16hours of waitressing, bar work, promotional work, modelling, absolute madness, now that i dont work, i struggle to wake up and by 6pm im knackered!
I have gone a bit mental on not throwing stuff but recycling or using those weird websites that buy crap off you. So ive been using mazuma to get rid of old mobiles, music magpie to get rid of cds, i tell you, people who dont work can always find someway to fill their time in, whether it be cups of tea and cakes with friends or selling their crap. xx
