I don't even want to know, far too many days left.
Since becoming a lady of leisure I wonder how I managed to fit work into my life, ive just been so busy.
Within the first couple days of attempting to be a lady, i had pretty much everything sorted for my trip, backpack, sleeping bag, net, pills and potions and three days worth of clothes packed, what more does a girl need. I have to say, im excited to be a minger for 10months, well an upgrade on mingingness of what i currently am now. For being a lady for 20days before going away i have been making an effort everyday making use of the luxories of straightners, make up, hot showers and nice clothes.
Also i have to say i have been guilty of exposing lots of skin, as once in india thatl be it, no more skin. Even though the other day on my way to a meeting with the bank, i wore jeans, oh yes, jeans, the mother has different ideas of what i should be wearing on a overcast day, warning me its humid and warm. So i opt for shorts. Well you know the girls you slag off for wearing nothing on a cold day, i became one of those girls. Blustery winds, freezing cold no jacket in me hot pants. I arrive at the bank a little past 9 and was greeted with, oh has the weather turned to sun, my response, erm no, its bloody freezing outside. On my walk home it then starts to pee down, which resulted in me grabbing a bus, eee well i was gobsmacked, £1.05 it cost me to get home, i remember the days when it was 25p. Only to make matters worse and for me to be more of a granny, on me last day of work the chomps and freddos has increased by 2p, thats like a 13% price increase or something, outrage.
Its been lovely though seeing friends and not having to worry about getting up for work or planning on when i am going to catch up on sleep. Poor Andy, im such a bad friend, i was an hour and a half late to his for some leaving drinks, god bless him, plus i fell asleep on the couch! Bens birthday was last night, so i gayed it up, but have suffered all day today, its been a write off day, the hang over has been horrendous, i kipped at andys(whos is america the lucky sod) and ads looked after me, ive been throwing up bile most the afternoon with a banging head, and had to fend on the metro journey home, where i though i was going to collapse, i was shaking, my legs were giving way and i nearly was sick on the metro, i thought the whole sick in your mouth then swallow tactic was going to have to come into play! i barely drank anything either, such a good night. Also it was lovely for me leaving drinks at Martinos with people from work and my Pilates classes, its just so nice to see people before i venture off.
Last Sunday . . . Every pedal of the way . . .
a week before i decided to do the coast to coast with a bri and grahame. Only to find that my seat had been double booked in the car, so it was decided that Bri and me would cycle to Alston, then the four of us cycle back together.
Considering i hate bikes, and had done no training for this came as a surprise to people who decided that i was mad, but i was determined that this would be fun! So i continued with the no training as i had no bike til the wednesday, heres the training plan i completed
wed - 90mins on upright bike in gym
thur - 2hours out with Scott round Penshaw on brothers bike
fri - 1 and half hours round Penshaw with brother on brothers bike(brother on dads bike)
sat - out by self on Scotts bike which is what i used on the Sunday for an hour and a half round Penshaw
Sun - 8 and a half hours constant graft uphill with gale force winds making us pedal on the spot and then chucking us off our bikes sideways. Horrendous, pedalling down hill, no release what so ever except 30mins for dinner, followed by an hour of being lost on top of peak fearing my life! We were physically and mentally beaten down in the open moors with peeing rain making us blind. Definitely one of the most challenging things i have done. If Bri wasnt with me i woulda chucked the bike in rage off the hill.
I was guttered but due to lack of training i had totally overdone it on this horrendous day and had knacked me right knee and left achilles, and had broken the gears on Scotts bike, so Bri ended up cycling home alone the next day, while i got dropped off at Hexham and waited to be picked up, and in this time managed to sit in a cafe eating homemade cake and drank the biggest pot of tea ever, then walked away without paying, i felt so guilty, soon got over the guilt but im not used to being trusted, normally you pay first. You can take the girl out of Sunderland but you cant take the Sunderland out the girl.
So roughly a week left, so as i have done nothing training wise since last sunday and im doing the 10k next sunday im going to have to get training again and tie up all my loose ends this week, argh!
Something i must start doing is taking photos, i never take them and must get in the habit for when im in india alone. Once with Laura itl be fine as she is snappy happy but im terrible, i only ever take a photo if someone else is so i just duplicate photos!
Im also very excited for Andy as he is moving to London with a new job and Clare is getting her own flat. xx
