Islands of Adventure - finished off today what we didn't do yesterday. First The Hulk again. We tried rolling up two extra pairs of socks in Luke's shoes but to no avail, he's still too small. Nevermind, he went on Dr Doom's Fearfall instead. Not Liam on this ride - he no likey! Then Spiderman! Wow wow!! We had photos with Spiderman and Woody Woodpecker etc to name but a few. And we made Harrison cry :o( we took him on the Harry Potter rollercoaster - only a small one but it was fast and he wasn't impressed! We witness some lovely singing from Hogwarts finest! Then it was onto The Dragon Challenge (which was AWESOME said Liam) for Liam and Rich with Luke being too small again. However, once again my camera rocks getting some fab action shots! Got some cracking facial expressions, even on the fastest rollercoasters.
Next was the Rip-Saw log flume for Rich, Liam and Luke (yes they got absolutely soaked!) Jurassic Park River Adventure next - brilliant ride, even Harrison went on this one, then Rich, Liam and Luke went on the other Harry Potter ride.
It's fab how all the staff are not only dressed according to the section of the park but also specific to each ride too. Such fantastic attention to detail. We made the decision to buy a two park meal deal which meant we could eat unlimited across both parks (in selected restaurants) as Universal have a "no cooler" policy. And yes, before you ask, Harrison DID go on the Cat In The Hat ride once more!!
Ok, so that's Islands of Adventure done! Onto Universal Studios. As we were walking through a lot of the characters were out in the street so lots of pictures... Shrek, The Simpsons etc. We visited Fievel's Playground (part of Woody Woodpeckers Kidzone) and then Curious George goes to town which is basically full of water, some booby traps etc - kids were absolutely soaked! Onto MIB ride (Men In Black) for Rich, Liam and Luke whilst Harrison and I went on The Simpsons ride again. Fab ride - Harrison was so impressed again. Disaster Movie was closed :o( so round to Rock-It and again Harrison and I went on Despicable Me whilst Rich, Liam and Luke went on the Rock-It. The queue was so long for Despicable Me that by the time they'd been on Rock-It we were still queueing so they joined us. Harrison did his funky dancing with the minions again. Then Luke went on Rock-It again - here they video you on the ride so the first set of videos were pure exhileration and the second set were Rich, Liam and Luke being silly and dancing to the track they had selected to listen to (you pick your own).
By now it was 6.50 so onto Mel's Diner for food. Don't get me wrong - food is nice and portion size enough but I'd be happy if I didn't see another burger and chips again. Seriously! I have been really good though and have had two salads!!
Just as the restaurant closed, the ending ceremony began. 100 years of Universal - fab ending to a great day. Final job on the agenda was to get the kids their "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" t-shirts - plus a Marvel Heroes one for Luke's birthday. Liam had already fleeced us for $25 for some presents!
Harrison and Luke have fallen asleep in the car on the way home every day so far which is great as it means we have worn them out! Mission accomplished!!
