Crazy Canucks
After the bunker, we made our way through Nuovo Mesto (New Town) to the Church of Sts Cyril and Methodius. Although a very plain church, it is revered in the minds of the Czechs because of its historical significance.. In 1942, after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the Butcher of Prague, the assassins and their accomplices made the church, the crypt specifically, the location of their last stand, holding out against the Germans until running out of bullets and committing suicide. Incredible, and it was spooky to stand in the very spot where such an important event occurred.
We did a boat cruise in the evening, combined with a pub crawl of sorts. The boat was very cool, but the company and the bars were definitely not our scene.
