Woohoo I got here, finally!!! (Those exclamation marks are for corrina!)
Wow the minute we drove out of the airport me and my new buddie the taxi driver all there was was paddy fields and mopeds. I got an education on road rule of Vietnam….there are NONE except every vehicle must have a working horn! I mean this place is phenomenal. I mean transporting food for example, a lady on a moped infront of us with an entire pig carcass on the back wide open to the sky tied on with a thin blue string. I really don't know why I still ordered pork balls after that J.
Moped's rule "the city of near misses", as we call it (well I came up with it but George wants credit too), like swarms of wasps they buzz all around the streets and "one way street" ha ha it's a mere suggestion they'll use the pavement if they have to.
Any way we had a great afternoon sight seeing as I arrived at 2.30. We went straight to a great restaurant called ……. My first Vietnamese meal (well actually I had one yesterday in Bangkok and it burned the mouth of me, and mean hot I wanted to peel my lips off).
We went to the Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake. Then we got robbed by a banana lady who gave me her giant weighing scale holding thingy to take a pic then she forced bananas on us and charged us 4 euro ha ha George gave her # but they started to grab at his wallet he was going mad ha ha feck it he said here you go. Bless we're having some fun but drinks and coffee are the same as home. I think when we get out of the city the cheapness shall follow. I got a pair of great silk pants which are wrap around and breezy, very good idea.
Travelers note: be cool crossing the road the steady horse wins the race and comes out alive.
