The last day of Ha Long Bay
I was told that the sunrise at 6am is amazing, so I decided it would be a once in a lifetime event so I would have to make the effort. Bloody clouds spoiled it all. Oh well! The day kicked off lovely and cool. We had a huge breakfast served to us in many courses. It was time to go to the next cave which was luckily where we had docked for the night. The cave was actually a tunnel into this deserted lagoon surround by these lush high cliffs it was like something out of the opening island scenes of Jurassic Park when they look out of the helicopter. Unreal! The boat we were in was a row boat so it was really peaceful but then of course there was engine boats too which we saw goes in and the noise ruined it for them. So glad we had the slow row boat. After this we anchored away towards the main land and at 10.30 they stopped to serve lunch. Bloody hell I was still digesting my breakfast. We were all sat down again and given a 9 course lunch which was really go I made myself eat it. My reasoning was I'll never have this again and especially on a boat in Ha Long Bay. Reasoning this way may lead to inevitable old age obesity.
We were brought back to the cattle market of a doc and thank god our bus came quick so we exchanged numbers with Ben who said to call him when we got to Ho Chi Minh City so he could take us around. 3.30hours later we are back at our hotel in Hanoi.
That evening in Hanoi it rained slightly but the thunder and lightening was great. Well just the lightening as we could not here the thunder over the hum drum hoot, hoot of the city. We searched for an internet café but no luck with anything up to date with actual USB ports so we headed back to the slow connection at our hotel.
