Vancouver Museum, 1100, Chestnut St, Kitsilano, Vancouver, Greater Vancouver Regional District, British Columbia, British Columbia
Molly and I had a day out together today, so out of the options I gave Molly she chose the Vancouver museum.
We caught two buses to get there with the change of bus outside Tiffanys. ( we didn't go in as the security looked a bit scary!!)
The museum covers the social history ( mainly the settlers) of Vancouver. Interesting to see the collection of photos and video of the 1900's. Molly was more interested from the 50's onward, with a replica diner and working jukebox.
The temporary exhibition was on Bhangra. Molly and I remembered the dance routine from yesterday's Bollywood and danced to the music together ( we were the only people in there!!). Molly also had a go on a dhole drum, used in punjabi music, with a lesson on a video.
When we had finished there we walked along the creek to Granville island and picked up some chips to eat. We then watched a couple of buskers ( just realised that the word buskers auto spell checks as nudists!! Good job I looked)
We walked along the rest of the creek towards the science centre stopping off at play areas along the way. Once at the end we caught the sky train to the sea bus. A cruise ship was just pulling out so the sea bus had to give it a wide berth but still gave us a lot of movement in it's wake. We then caught the bus up to Lynn's.
Tracy and Lynn had been for pedicures and when we arrived at the house they were both asleep (5:30!!)
We had dinner, then Lyndon and Anne turned up after going to a soccer match. We sat around and chatted before packing our bag for Seattle tomorrow.
