Today we caught the bus to Stanley Park. Once off, we made our way to the tourist information centre to pick up a map.
We had come here today to look at the native american village which had been set up for the summer months. As we knew there was going to be a dance demonstration at 1pm so we didn't rush straight in but stopped for drinks and cookies at the cafe. Molly then played in the play ground.
There have been lots of summer camp groups everywhere we have been over the holiday and today was no exception. They are so easily spotted as each group has a different coloured T-shirt on. Today we had groups of blue, red and green.
Once in the village we went on the Spirit catcher train ride where they performed a story of the raven searching for the sun while the train went round. After that we saw a guy carving a fallen log into 2 eagles and an Orca whale. We all had to stand in a circle, hold hands and then join in the song he sang while moving around the wood. The kids around didn't want to hold hands with each other to start with but were more than happy to climb over the guy's carving. One of the strange things we saw was a lady making patterns in very thin beech wood by biting it. The wood was paper thin and she was able to fold it to make pictures.
We had some yam fries and a banock hot dog which Molly tried but was not keen. At 1 o'clock we watched the mask dancing and Molly and Tracy joined in at the end.
When we had finished looking around we walked along the sea wall to look at the totem poles and have an ice-cream. We walked back along the sea wall to the bus stop, then back up to Lynn's house.
