Bit of a nightmare day, after a slow morning we had to leave our cabin and check out at midday. Our flight was at 1530 so were told the bus would pick us up at 1330 but to be there at 1315 incase it was early. Wasnt really enough time to go anywhere or do anything so Nick went to the sand dunes to get some red sand for our journal and i waited at the bus stop.

At 1400 i went back to reception to say the bus hadnt shown, they rung the airport and said that our flight had been delayed and the bus would pick us up at 1430. As wed been out in the sun waiting for so long Nick got us some water and an ice pop to cool down.

It got to 1515 and were now very hot and pissed off, went back to reception and they arranged for someone to come and get us. he eventually arrived and admitted that the other coach forgot to pick us up.

Things got worse when we were told at check in that they couldnt seat us together on the flight as it was full and we were the last two to check in.

Shame we wernt seated together but the flight went well. With completeley clear sky we got great views back down on Uluru. It looks so much more spectacular when looking down on it as you can see its size and the completely flat desert land for miles and miles around it.

Later in the flight i could see rainbows below the clouds, loads of them, it was so beautiful. Amazing views of the desert too.

When we got to Cairns we used a free phone to call the hostel, Caravella city backpacker, who came to pick us up for free. Checked in fine, then went for a wander along the seafront, from first looks a very nice city, different from Perth too.
