What a day! Lucky I have boots that were made for walking :-) they started a new early entry with Trafalgar today into Vatican museum so we were there by 8am way before the crowds. The history of popes, kings and artists from today is amazing. Within the museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peters the history of Rome is evident. Some pope's even had their own little signatories they had worked into the art work they commissioned. Can't believe Michaelangelo stood for 4 years painting the ceiling. My neck was hurting after 20 mins of looking at the artwork. The colosseum was great too. Lots of ruins but you can easily see what a magical place it was in its day. We had a quick break ( fit in some shopping and a vino) and then we left again at 5 for an evening stroll from Spanish Steps to Trevi Fountain to Pantheon to Piazza Navona. Dinner was fun and the street sellers in the piazza were entertaining. Some of our group don't know how to handle the constant street sellers. I just say "no. And ciao ciao".
