We were up early this morning at 6am. William once again came into bed with us. Not surprisingly though after we woke him up at 2am after discovering a mouse eating our bread in the tent.
We were driving out at about 8am; we had to cover 530 kms today. We drove through a few small towns like Cocklebiddy and Caiguna, where we gained another 45 mins. This time difference is getting confusing. Lucky we are on track now and are now 2 hours behind Qld.
We had another uneventful day today, talking it turns in driving as it can get very tiring driving down such straight roads with the same scenery. Neil drove the stint today which is Australia’s Largest Straight at 146.6 kms or 90 miles. He looked a bit bored by the end and was actually excited to see a corner. We had lunch at Balladonia and after William had a play on the playground we were off again. Next stop was to be Norseman, which was 192 kms away. Kelley drove, but didn’t have much company as both Neil & William slept most the way. We pulled into Norseman at about 3pm where petrol was 30c/L cheaper than the last stop. We are now paying $1.71/L.
We are staying in the Gateway Caravan Park. It started raining not long after we arrived and luckily Neil put the annex up (fort the very first time) so we have somewhere to sit. After speaking to the local policeman, who is staying in a cabin across from our camper, we are in the middle of the rain depression from the Cyclone that him further north. It looks we are set in for rain all night.
We bathed William in the laundry tonight and he had a blast. While getting him dressed he informed us he was Ready to Go and wanted to get back into the ‘cool car’ as he calls it and keep driving. We had to convince him Mummy & Daddy weren’t so keen to get back in the car just get.
We will be heading to Esperance tomorrow which is only 200kms away, so a short drive. Hopefully the rain is gone by the time we get there. We are hoping to get in early and take Will fishing; he wants to catch a shark. Not sure if we want to get it off the hook if he does.
