We spent 2 days and 2 nights on a boat called Powerplay sailing around the Whitsundays. I took every seasickness remedy possible and I was fine -wahey! The boat was quite cosy but we did do a lot of snorkelling or diving so it was fine. Neil and I did 4 dives each, so we both now feelquite a bit more relaxed and enjoy it now! We saw loads of diffferent fish and coral. I really liked to clown fish. The bat fish were good too but they came very close to use and they are quite big so it was a bit offputting too!
Snorkelling was also good because we could still see a lot of things but the diving was better.
The boat had a jacuzzi a the front, which was lovely to use after we had been in the sea. We did slosh about a lot if the boat was moving too!
Neil did cut his foot on coral but thought it was ok, but it is infected now. We spent Sunday morning looking for a doctor to see it. He is now on antibiotics and his foot is improving. I was worried as the diving instructor said that if the coral breaks off it can continue to grow inside your cut so I told Neil he was going going to turn into Barnacle Bill from Pirates of the Caribbean! It does look red, swollen and nasty but not that bad!
When we were sailing around the islands we made a stop at Whithaven. We were the first on the North whithaven beach at 8 am in the morning! It has always been in the National Geographics top 3 beaches in the world. It was absolutely beautiful. We spent the morning walking up to the lookout or chilling on the beach. We weren't supposed to go in the water without a stinger suit though. that was the only downfall, although some people did and they weren't stung!
