Hi everyone, well, not much to say really, but here goes. We are are now 13 days into our Sunny Oz experience and there has only been a few days of sun. Today we have trouseres, jumpers and socks on and are still freezing! Sorry there aren't many photos yet, but promise to put some on soon.
We are sat here watching a wildlife programme, trying to think of what we did the whole of last week?! it's just gone. One afternoon it was sunny, so we caught the bus down to the beach and spent the afternnon sunbathing and Lozzy had a nice glowing red face. We still didn't go in the sea as there was loads of seaweed. We seemed to go to the shops quiet a few times for various reasons and we made our banner for Robbie. Lots of paints, glitter, glue and papermache!
Our xmas tree got put up on Fri and it feels a bit more like xmas (epecially with the cold weather)
The weekend was good. On Saturday we went wine tasting in the Hunter Valley. it was about an hours drive inland. There are hundereds of vineyards scattered around the Hunter Valley including some of the big Australian names like Lindemans and Hardy's. We went into the information centre and picked out a couple each to visit. We had no idea so just chose the ones with the nicest looking leaflets or good names, then set off to try the wine! The first one we visited was the best. It had a Spanish theame and the guy was friendly and rather large - Think he drank one too many bottles! He taught us how to hold the glass, swirl the wine and taste it. We had a ceramic pot to spit the wine out, but we thought it seemed a real shame to waste it, so just swigged it back! We had a list of about 15 wines they made and we got to try them all! Lox nearly had all of them marked - she liked a lot. I managed to get red wine on my white top and had to get it out with white wine! Teresa bought two boxes of some really nice wine, which because it was a small vineyard, you can't buy in the shops. Throughout the day we visited about 5 different vineyards and tried lots of wine at each of them, myself, Loz and fabs bought different bottles of wine from each vineyard - luckily the wine I chose was on sale! We took a picnic and had lunch in the Australian countryside! We saw a lot of woods where the trees was black through bush fires, there seems to be a lot of bush fires here, they are always on the news. When we got back there was a BBQ waiting for us and after that we started playing a game called "Uncle Robbies', which Sam and Amanda had invented at Uni. It turned out to be a good laugh and didn't bother going out clubbing in the end.
Sunday was Robbie and we had a great time. We caught the bus from Terrigal to Gosford, then the train to Central, which took about an hour and half. When we arrived at Central, we then had to catch another bus to Moore Park, where Aussie Stadium is, but we found it ok. We went into Foxtel Studios (Foxtel is the same as our Sky), this is just outside the stadium and has lots of pubs and a cinema etc. We had lunch and a few schooners and ended up being spotted by a girls from Teresa's work - she had been told about us and had spotted our banner! After this we went to que. The que wasn't as big as we thought and we ended up right at the front. we had two hours to wait until the gate opened and then another two hours once they had opened the gate. before we could go in they checked our bags and you even had to take the lid off your water! We got in and ran for it right down to the front of the barrier, it was a real good view. Even though we was in the back section we was still near the front and we could have payed a lot more for our tickets to go into section A and it wouldn't have been much better. The concert was brilliant and got some real good pictures, there was some other Poms there too and we talked to an Austalian girl that loved our mucis and wanted to move to England - We told her not to bother. Loads of girls in the crowd kept fainting and had to get carried over the barrier by the hunky man that Laura liked. The support band that was there was called Sneaky Sound System, we didn't know the music, but now we love them ! They play it in all the shops and pubs and it's even on thier ministry of sound album! We need someone to download the album for us as we was going to buy it, but it cost 30 bucks as it's new! Chris you are usually good at things like that! can we have two copies please?
Anyway, thats all for now, not done much, but will fill you in again soon.
