11/1/07- Well, we have just got on the Greyhound bus to set off on our travels up the east coast of Australia, 1st stop is Newcastle and after that there are lots more exciting places to visit.
Laura returned yesterday, I wanted to show her Bondi before we left Sydney so we stayed there last night. Its a great place, full of all kinds of people and the people that say Bondi isn't a very nice place they are wrong - its really nice and full of brown good looking people like us!! Never seen such big waves, the water can pull you right in from the edge so you have to be careful and the break of the waves are about a mile out and there are huge rips which are dangerous, there are some good sufers there too! Anyway will come bach to Bondi at the end!
My week alone in Oz turned out ok, after new years eve I spent a couple of days with Emliy and Ellie then after that went into Sydney and stayed with Jamie, the guy I meet on new years eve. I spent 5 days with him and was staying in a hotel in Artamon about 20 minutes from the city, free accommodation, yet again and there was a pool! Its certainly a good way to get to know someone, skip the dating just move in with them, ha! Luckily he was a nice guy and we had a laugh in our 5 days. On the first day we went on a day trip to the Blue Mountains as he has got a job selling tours and had to do it so I went along too! Had to get up at 6am to catch the bus and at 8.30am we reached Featherdale Wildlife Park whick was the first stop of the day. It was great there, I fed the Kangaroos and got to stroke the cutest Koala and even saw a Tazmanian Devil which I was trying to wake up to see what it did! Ha ! On the way to the Blue Mountains, we stopped at a look out point which had spectacular views! We was told it was where the flim "The Darkness" was filmed, if any of you have seen it!? The next stop of the day was something Falls ( I have forgotten the name ) , where the sisters are ( rocks ) that was a great view too. I understand where the Blue Mountains got the name from now as they have a blue mist over them from the reflection of the sky onto the trees. The next stop was scenic world, where you can pay to do walks or go on cable cars but we chose to have a picinc and a cold beer in the sun instead! The afternoon we went to the winery and got to drink lots of wine and eat cheese and biscuits. We bought a bottle of wine which I managed to drink nearly all of it on my own that night. After this we went to the Olympic Park where the Sydney Olympics was held which was quiet good to see. Finally we went on a cruize back to Circular Quay, it was a really good day.
The next day Jamie took me to Manly beach were we stayed there untill it rained, then we went for a 3 hour lunch! The day after was hot and we went to the famous Bondi beach which is when I decided I had to Show Loz Bondi, before we left, on the night we went to Cargo Bar on Darlng Harbour and drank cocktails and champaigne taking in the beautiful scenery and that was the end of our 5 days! Fun Hey!
On Bondi yesterday Loz slept for 2 hours and some Canadian guys throw thier ball infront of my face for an excuse to come over and talk, two of them where Canadian and two where Polish but could speak various languages fluently, they had been in Oz a year as international students doing a teaching degree and as we were chating in the heat on Bondi it was -13 in Canada! Imagine that cold! Anyway these guys invited us out for a drink on the night ans we went to a really cool bar like Revs but x100 times bigger! They was a bit weird and difficult to understand and make conversation with so we did the toilet trick and spent all night avoiding them, not done that for years! Its was a good night though!
This is Laura coz Nadine is too lazy to get her bum out of the sun, Love you all xx
