It's 7pm here and we are on the bus going to Port Maquarie, after paying Newcastle a two day, flying visit.
We are now back into full on travelling mode, eating noodles and drinking cheap boxes of wine, along with everyone else.
Loz is still catching up on sleep, she slept on the 3 hour journey to Newcastle and didn't get up until 2.30pm yesterday.
We stayed at the YHA Hostel, which is one of the best places yet and not like a hostel at all, more like a hotel. We slept in a 4 bed dorm, one of the girls is German and is also coming to Port Maquarie tonight and the other girl named Vivian was from L.A (it reminded me of pretty woman), Didnt see much of her, but Loz pumped really loud in bed so it prob woke her up! ha!
Our first night there was a free BBQ at the local pub for all the backpackers from the two biggest hostels. It was good, the whole place was packed with people like us and we made loads of friends and had buy one get one free drinks! Bonous! We did the quiz, but lost badly (Gary I havnt got any better on general knowledge yet!), there was also a band on , but we decided to get wine and go back to the hostel for drinking games, me, Kim (who is now travelling the same places as us), Loz and Lou Lou (who has never seen snow, or heard of a sledge), Keith and Logan (canadian lads) was playing celebrity heads. The girls went off to bed, but we carried on with the drinking games as Keith reckoned he could drink us under the table, and we needed to prove him wrong. It was hilarious, Keith stood on a chair to show us a David Blane trick and it collapsed from under him. He kept saying how drunk he was, but we made him finish the game he wanted to play, and he needed to play to drink us under the table. He carried on, but was sick all over the table. We have never moved so fast in all our lives and never sat at that table again, it was revoulting!
The next day was when loz slept in, but I went to Nobby's beach with Kim and Lou. it wasn't the best beach, but still nice and surrounded by lakes and grass. That night we went down the beach with wine. It's great to be able to sit on the beach in the middle of Jan with a glass of wine and not be freezing. Another guy called Chris came with us, who could play the guitar, so we even had a bit of oasis playing. It was a good chilled out night. We went back and played celebrity heads again, getting two London guys to join in.
Today was cloudy, but had fun, everyone was lounging around, we sat in the ballroom (a huge room with TV and sofas) and watched "Jungle Book", Kim's sky diving DVD and "United 93". Said bye to the people we met, but will prob see them again, as everyone is going to the same places.
We are now nearing our destination, just going over some kind of Blue creek, with white sand and huge pelicans randomly strolling along, nothing like the humber with it's muddy banks and pigeons! We have just made a plan of where we are going to visit along our way up to Cairns and there are so many great places to look forward to! Another 10 weeks and 2 days of fun in Oz and we are gonna love every second of it!
Sorry about these entries being a bit late, but internet is expensive here, so just have to do them every so often. Hope you are all well, and not too cold in the storms you are having over there!
