Hello from Hoi An!
I love it here, and would love to stay longer, but it's very expensive, I had to wander around town for an hour and a half yesterday to find somewhere to stay that cost less than 10 USD a night, so tomorrow I'll be getting on a bus to Hue.
On my last day in Ho Chi Minh I took a tour to the Mekong delta, went to some floating markets, had the most delicious shrimp for lunch and saw how coconut candy and rice paper are made (yum yum), then I got on the night bus to Nha Trang, it was a really gret bus, as the seats folded down actually horizontally, so I managed to get a decent night's sleep. I spent the day in Nha Trang, which has a gorgeous, but quite crowded, beach, and then got on another bus to Hoi An.
Now that I'm here I spent yesterday exploring the old town and doing a bit of shopping, Hoi An is famous for it's tailors, so I've had some trousers and a dressing gown made, the woman was so quick at measuring me up! It literally took 2 seconds! Then last night I went out around Hoi An, and I tried the local specialities of White Rose, which was beautiful, and delicious deep fried wontons
This morning I went out to the old Champa ruins at My Son, which are about an hour away from Hoi An by moto, they're beautiful, and surrounded by mountains and forest, it was a really great experience, and my moto driver was really interesting, and was telling me all about various things we were driving past, including a wedding reception which he crashed for about 10 minutes to get us some sodas, it was great, and the people there were really friendly, though more than a little bit drunk by the time we got there.
See Ya!
