Hey everyone!
I'm back in Bangkok now, and loving it! I spent a couple of days in the north of Thailand, which is really pretty but I was keen to get to Bangkok and the manic-ness after how quiet Laos was.
In the north I spent a day in Nong Khai, which is a nice enough border town, but the nightlife wasn't amazing, and then I went to Chiang Mai, and did a short trek, but my camera went wierd so I didn't manage to get any picture there.
Coming down by train to Bangkok was the wierdest experience though. I got the sleeper train since it's like a 13hr journey, but unfortunately booked on the same day as this completely insane woman, who kicked up a big fuss when she got on the train because she hadn't been put on a bunk next to her "boyfriend" (who had tried to get me to buy him a ticket to Bangkok that morning), then, at like 11 o clock she decided that she wanted to sleep in the bunk which she'd booked, which would have been fine except she woke up the guy sleeping in that bunk and everyone else on the train when she was trying to get him to move, noone was particularly impressed, but she finally shut up and let everyone get some sleep before we got into Bangkok.
So far in Bangkok I've visited the National museum, but haven't really done much else, as I've been spending a lot of time chatting to other travellers, who are either just starting out and are keen to hear my wisdom (who knew I had any of that???) or are just finishing and have lots of interesting stories to tell. Either tomorrow or the day after I'll be going to the 'tiger temple', where you can have your picture taken with a real live tiger!!!! Also, while I've been in Bangkok I've been learning some circus skills, and I think I'm getting pretty good, I'm not managing to whack myself around the back of the head nearly as often as when I started, so there's some improvement already!
