Happy Mother's Day!! Woken up by the kids who all climbed into our bed and gave me lots of wrapped up presents - shells, stones and books they had made. Matty had also wrapped up most of his toys (broken) and books for me to have and was quite offended when he found them back in his own bag later on! Nick gave me a bottle of sticky and made us all pancakes for breakfast. The kids went on to have endless bowls of cereal and toast and it was mid morning by the time everyone had finished and the kitchen was tidy again. We walked into town and bought some rolls and a cake and then came back and packed up a picnic and went off in the car to Currarong, a tiny little place at the end of Jervis Bay. We found a beautiful beach and climbed along the rocks searching the rock pools before stopping for our picnic. Just as we had finished our sandwiches the dark clouds rolled in and it suddenly poured. It didn't last long but we had to postpone the cake and hide out in the car! We drove into Nowra next and had planned to do a walk along the river but it was too muddy so instead we parked by the sports oval and ate our cake before having a game of soccer - girls' vs. boys!! We drove back to Huskisson and took the kids to the park before dinner. It's the only place we can get Internet reception here so while the kids played we checked out places to stay further up the coast. Once back at the van Nick made dinner and we sat and ate it in the camp kitchen so we could spread out. The neighbours came over and gave me a glass of champagne for Mother's Day and we spent the evening chatting to them. We put the younger ones to bed after a shower and then Katharine, Nick and I watched the last 2 episodes of 'Once'. We had just reached the climax when the disk stopped as it was scratched. We cleaned it and tried it on the laptop but it still wouldn't play and in the end we had to watch the last 20 minutes on Katharine's little dvd player - it was still good!! Roll on season 3!
