I rise early with the intention of taking some early morning snaps. This is made easier by the fact my body thinks it's midday. Winning. After a cup of tea with Maurice & Maurine, I head to the beach along the main road. I take a couple of decent shots, one incidentally of a 'Christmas-style' Coca-Cola truck. The sun is shining. The beach looks better than the photos (mine and the brochure's).
After some coffee back at the apartment, Laura and I head back to the beach. The wind's picked up by now and the few clouds in the sky have turned into a thick cover. It's warm though. I take a few more pictures of the beach and Laura. They look a lot better with Laura in. We discuss a range of camera technicalities and I kind of sound like I know what I'm talking about.
We all head to a mall a few miles inland. The place is massive and it's great value. I end up buying nothing. The trip also involves my first experience of driving on the American roads. My initial thoughts: "easy" and "need a big car - probably something with four-wheel drive".
We stock up on food and booze. Good work. We head back to the apartment, eat dinner, drink some wine and discuss tomorrows plans. We decide on a trip to Epcot, one of the parks under the Walt Disney World banner. It sounds more like a world fair. We'll see.
