On Sunday, we hung out at the Ewings. We started the day with Kiana learning to ride her bike. Grandpa Mike had gotten her a lovely pink bike to have here in Bozeman. Kiana has training wheels on her bike at home so this presented a great opportunity to learn to ride like a big girl.
Chris did an awesome Daddy job of teaching her how! He ran alongside her, holding the seat until she was balancing and then he let go. She did it! It was great fun to see her riding back and forth in the parking lot.
After that, they trekked up Sourdough trail to the bridge over the creek where Kiana helped 2 young boys build a nice dam of rocks. They made it back in time for us to journey to the AWESOME Museum of the Rockies!
Known for its amazing dinosaur exhibits, we were most impressed with the incredible Yellowstone interactive exhibit designed just for kids. I cannot even describe how creative it is and Kiana had great fun there with her new friend Sadie. She got to camp in the woods, roast marshmallows, fish, cook in a log cabin, see animals from Yellowstone, along with its unique geological features. There is even a Old Faithful Geyser that "erupts" periodically, always surprising the visitors.
In addition to the kids' section, there was a wonderful exhibit of Native American life, as well as one on the early settlers. It also was featuring a traveling exhibit on Napoleon. This museum is definitely not to be missed and the best part was that is was free because our membership to the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History was honored as a reciprocating institution.
Kiana then zipped over to Bridger Creek Golf Course with Daddy for her second private lesson, courtesy of Grandpa. The instructor said she was amazed by Kiana's skill and Chris said she was able to hit the balls very far for her size. She had a blast and says she wants to continue with golf lessons in Santa Barbara -- thanks Grandpa!
In the meantime, Britt fished Bridger Creek. No catches but any time on a stream is a good time.
