Woke up to the joys of another bus trip back to Quito from Baños where we once again ran into Paul & Gemma. The bus back from Baños was actually pretty spectacular, for scenery, once again trundling along through the Andes taking in all the patchwork countryside of the farming land up the sides of volcanoes and other high mountain ranges.
When we got to the bus station we took Paul & Gemma's advice to take the Trole back to The Secret Garden where we were storing our bags to take a walk around the Old Town of Quito before getting on the plane to Peru. It was nice to walk around the Old Town taking in all the sights and churches we even ate ice cream at the oldest heladeria in Quito and they still make the ice cream in the old fashioned way in bronze pots, very nice.
Picked up our bags and off to Quito airport which as far as airports go was really nice, apart from the US$41 departure tax, and sat down for a little bit before heading off for Lima.
Smooth flight all good then we got off and got a taxi to our hostel in Miraflores which is a suburb of Lima. Just like before the traffic in Lima is insane and all the drivers have a death wish but our driver got us there safely in the end.
Our hostel Loki Backpackers was nice, pretty cool place to be, too bad we weren't staying longer. The crime in Lima is apparently bad so we decided to just stay in the hostel bar and have a few Peruvian beers which like the Ecuadorian stuff are really good. Ready for yet another bus in the morning this time to Nazca.
