5am start again! Was necessary though to get the the Cruz De La Condor to be there early enough to see the condors fly before we could go check out the amazing Colca Canyon. Got some great photos, its hard to take bad ones with scenery like this place has. Got a few wicked ones of the condors, massive birds with wingspans of up to 3meters they fly very gracefully around in the canyon but close up they are as ugly as you can get because they are related to vultures. Walked along the canyon for a bit and it was hard to describe how wonderful the view is. This canyon is deeper then the Grand Canyon although it isn't as wide but like I said it is a lot more sceninc. Off for a nice but once again overpriced buffet lunch organized by the tour guide before heading back to Arequipa. When we got back I had to go to the bank to get money out and then wait in line to ask for change. Once again my use of terrible Spanish and hand signals got me what I needed. Although it was a little more difficult in the pharmacy when I had to go get lip balm, that was a real struggle! But again I achieved my goal. It was after this that I had my photo taken in the streets like I was a tourist attraction very weird and I forgot to ask for a propina, which means tip, which is what all the Peruvians do if you take a photo of them. Met up with Jenny and Mark and went for diner at a nice little vegetarian restaurant, yes that's right vegetarian, that believe it or not I recommended! Nice simple food that for a whole meal for 4 of us cost 22 soles, that's $7! Finished the night with a couple of quiet drinks at a nice bar that was playing old 80's rock music.
