The bus got to the station late so we didnt end up leaving Nasca til about midnight. Couldn't sleep too well but it was ok. Got to Arequipa and walked to our hostel the Arequipay Backpackers which was an old mansion that had been converted pretty cool place. Left our bags there then went and had breakfast in the Plaza Del Almas on the top of a balcony. Went for a walk round then had a DVD burnt of all the photos i{ve taken so far. Looked at the church in the main square very big and decorated although it was being restored so we couldn{t see it all. Got back to the hostel to have a siesta because I didn't sleep too well on the bus. In the afternoon we went to see Juanita, the ice maiden, who is a frozen mummy found at the top of one of the volcanos after being sacrificed by the Incas. Very interesting she was locked in a frozen glass case kept at -20 degrees, she still looked well preserved even her hair was still silky. Did more random wandering around town had churros, which are Spanish straight donuts, went to a book swap, had helados (ice cream) then went back to the hostel and organize our tour to the Colca Canyon the next day had dinner then went to bed.
