So it's now day 3.... Can anything else go wrong!
So we get up at about 11am on day 2, the plan is/was to spend the day being lazy round the pool or at the beach, the last thing we wanted to see is our two wheel beasts!....... However.
We check the weather and is says hard rain in Monaco, bad news. We make a decision together that we will go their today.
So we all come to terms with putting on our leathers... On they go! Within 5 mins I have sweat pouring out the bottom of my leathers... It's so f**king hot!
Were off to Monaco, nice roads until u hit the endless Tolls, it's not easy trying to find the right change in your leathers! On the way down we see flash after flash... Oh there's another speed camera... Oops!
So we spend the afternoon, well 1.5 hours in Monaco, Casino square, very expensive cars, and a s*** load of police! So we all get a drink and ice cream for a reasonable €9, reasonable my ass, that was for a can of coke!
We get packed up again and start heading home at about 7pm....
We racing through the south of france and some frightening speeds, but it can't be helped, the roads are just soo good!
Then.... Wait for it....... Boom! Wobble wobble weave weave wobble! All I feel is like I'm all over the place, can't steer the bike, then Mick comes flying past me pointing to the side of the road. I Instantly know..... PUNCTURE!!
After a few expletives, only a few ;) is asses the damage. Not good, I call my breakdown, they say to call the police to get recovered. Oh no, although its flat my tyre is still sticky.... I call them and not one of the speaks English, s***! They just say SOS phone, SOS phone use a SOS phone. I casually cruse the bike slowly down the hard shoulder for 1 mile where we get to another Toll, now I seem to like Tolls lol. All the others are pulled up shaking there head as me and Mick approach.
I use the SOS phone and the operator who also doesn't seem to like the English language says "You need mechanic" YES I BLOODY DO! One will be there is 30mins.
So we wait, yay here is the recovery lorry. He pulls over and smiles, gets out his compressor and try's pumping it up, no good.
Then he says he can fix it, my confidence dropped as I thought as if! But OMG this bloke was a legend! He plugs my tyre in 15mins and pumps it up for max psi. We wait for 20 mins and it is still fine... My breakdown pay the man and we all set off back to hotel.
The next issue is that we al,l other than Ollie and Mick have got our Dark visors on, and guess what, yep u guessed it... It's bloody dark. Cursing back at a measly 65mph / 100kph we finally get back at 11:35pm. WE NEED BEER! Off straight out for a drink or two.
Now this morning I speak to my breakdown and we have arrange to take my bike to a garage at 2pm this afternoon to get a new rear tyre for a not expected €195.90 cost!
Oh well the trip goes on, fingers crossed!
