Working in Italy. Well, the economy can't get much lower here. I am trying...very hard. I do have some work though, the newest of which is just a little scary. I mean challenging...
I got a call from a girl here in San Bonifacio asking if I was interested in translation work. I said, well sure, I'll give it a go. When I met with her she handed me two lovely articles from her PhD prof on intercultural and foreign affairs. So somehow, I find myself translating these very interesting documents from scholastic English into hopefully readable Italian. Ahem...interesting is all I can say at this point.
But accepting this job made me consider even more what I'm doing here and why. I can't say I have much of an answer, but one thing became more clear. I was bored. I like the challenge of living (or trying to) in a new place...learning a new language...trying to find work and complete jobs that I wouldn't necessarily have considered otherwise. That's the answer I have today.
Tomorrow is a full day of work and school with a little fun in the eveing thrown in there.
Buona serata.
