Man I can't believe how quickly camp is going, we're pretty busy 24/7 so sleep is very luxurious. Here are some of the highlights: week 1- camp fire with the junior boys division in the woods, singing songs, eating marshmellows. Going Roller skating, going out to Applebees with the counsellors, performing in the counsellor talent show, our sunday water carnival at the pool and the co-ed dances...brings back high school days! Well after 4 days I can safely say we're all exhausted. It's been the quickest 4 days of my life and I'm just thankful that 8y.o go to bed at 9pm because otherwise I'd be in big trouble!! I'm having the time of my life though, I've got 5 kids with another 2 counsellors in my bunk which is definitely close to the best counsellor to camper ratios in the camp. Just a quick update guys. This week is orientation week with the campers to arrive tomorrow afternoon. It's been a terrible week after Nik's passing on Tuesday, but we've still managed to have good times along the way. We had a trip to the shops in Maryland (tax free) and had a great meal out at Ruby Tuesday's which included a few bourbons, which was nice. HI guys I've got some terrible news. Yesterday, only 1 day after all international staff arrived, we had a death at camp. Yesterday morning at 6:30am a guy called Nik, a 19y.o. pro waterpolo player from the netherlands went for a swim on his own down at the pool. the pool was officially closed and no life gurads were on duty. After breakfast the pool staff made their way down to the pool to begin training and found him submerged in the deepest part of the pool....
