Well after 4 days I can safely say we're all exhausted. It's been the quickest 4 days of my life and I'm just thankful that 8y.o go to bed at 9pm because otherwise I'd be in big trouble!! I'm having the time of my life though, I've got 5 kids with another 2 counsellors in my bunk which is definitely close to the best counsellor to camper ratios in the camp. Some of the other bunks have 12-13 with only 2 counsellors, plus my kids are little angels and don't seem to have the dreaded bed wetting issue that I know other guys have had to deal with already.
We've got around 6 activities everyday, some of which they have everyday (instructional swim, sports clinics and free swim) and others just once a week (go karts, rock climbing). The food you'll be glad to hear HASN'T improved and it's really worrying how much crap some of the kids eat. You have to really watach they're not just eating 6 hashbrowns and 5 cups of sports drink for breakfast...cause they will.
We've had a few cool night activities already such as the camp fire out in the woods, a dance with the junior girls and tonight we get to go rollerskating with the junior girls too...what a social life these 3rd graders lead.
I've taken a night off tomorrow night, so we're off on an exciting bus ride to....Walmart..how fantastic. the sarcasm doesn't really transfer, but at least I'll be able to get a new camera after mine decided not to be able to turn on anymore (goodluck finiding a camera repiar place while at camp too) The cameras are pretty cheap though, under $200, so I'll have some updated photos shortly.
Keep me updated with news from home guys cause I get none in here! I hear of floods and fires in the states and have no idea wht you're talking about. I also hear it's getting pretty cold over there? It's been pretty normal weather since that heat wave a few weeks ago, with tops around 25 most days and not much rain at all, touch wood.
Stay safe and write me back!
