I have not seen rain like we have had the past 3 days. There is no letup not a half an hour space just solid rain. Everything is sodden. Our camp is pretty damp and uncomfortable so we weve decided to bolt. Probably miss the reef dive and head westward towards NT. Poor Greg got no sleep last night and is enjoying some shut eye this morning without my snoring. As soon as he's up we will pack up and hit the road.
Last night a bandicoot came into our camp and tried to pinch some bread. Poor thing was drenched and looked hungry so we didn't mind sharing.
We have talked to heaps of travellers here all heading northwards with their slick outfits,4x4s with fantastic rigs. One guys trailer was worth over 60 grand. I couldn't see the value but it did look good. Our camp whilst not looking a million dollars is great and does the trick perfectly, Greg has done a good job. We do need to find a laundromat some where and square ourselves up for the long haul west through southern Ahnemland. We can't wait for some sun.

Angela That part of Qld had over 100m highest rainfall in more than 60 years. Not even supposed to be raining at this time of year. Amazing. What a drag though, not possible to enjoy the surroundings when everything sopping wet. Poor Greg, he has all my sympathy!! Buy the boy some earplugs. Hope you find the sun soon. Xx
