After a wholesome $25 breakfast at the Mantra Hotel we headed off to Kakadu. Firstly stopping at the recently refurbished war museum in Darwin. This was very impressive and informative. Darwin was bombed by the Japs In February 19 1942. This struck was bigger than Pearl Harbour. After seeing the museum which was filled with interactive displays and videos it was not easy to see that no Japanese tourists visited this museum.
We headed to the fuel station Woolworths then onto Kakadu.
On the way we stopped at the original jumping croc tour on the Adelaide river. This tour took one hour and was great. We saw plenty of jumping crocs and the boat was not even half full. School holidays finished and it wasn't the weekend, yay some space at last. The water was very murky and looked ideal for crocs.
The temperatures are in the mid 30s and clear sky's make for magnificent nights under the stars. Mossies are a problem but plenty of repellant and no worries.
