Morning! Well from all my Facebook gabble I imagine everyone has a pretty good idea of our day yesterday.
It was just so amazing! Bron tells us we're driving to Abu Dhabi to see the Grand Mosque. Oh yeah we think, mosques are a dime a dozen over here. But grand does not even begin to describe this one! Made out of solid marble, silk carpets, in the photo all that inlay you can see on floors & walls is mother of pearl, jade, lapis etc.
Bron & I had to get dressed up as Ninjas. Rather hot. The boys dress requirements were long pants, mmmmm. Also there were boy toilets & no girls. Not for the public anyway. Still pretty great.
After that we went to Ferrari World but unfortunately the 2 main rides were closed due to wind. We're going to try & get back there on Sunday.
Obviously the high wind bought something else....sand storm! Could see it coming in. As a result things were pretty hazy so couldn't get any good outside shots of the Burj Al Arab, our afternoon tea stop.
I do not have enough adjectives really. It wasn't just that it was beautiful, it wax the whole experience. All the tourists are outside the gate taking pics. No one can get even close unless you are staying there. Our taxi pulls up & Philip had our booking number which we give to the guard. He looks through his paper work, finds Philip's name then his whole attitude changes. Oh yes Mr Oliver this & that! Doors opened for you, awesome afternoon tea, gold dust (real!) on Philip's cappuccino!
Atmosphere classic, elegant & classy. Harpist who played coincidently the song I walked down the aisle to. A red rose for my anniversary!
We tried to get up to the 27th floor to the Skyview Bar after dinner & met the gate keeper. She stands in front of the 2 elevators & NO ONE is getting up there unless they belong there. Not just a place where you can wander into the bar & grab a drink.
We were allowed up & could afford just one drink. New & unknown cocktails to try. No Midori Splices here. We were escorted in & out of bar. When we got back downstairs the gate keeper knew our name. Good evening Mr Oliver! See you back soon! Haha not likely unless a lotto win is in my future!

Cheryl What an experience. Imagine real gold dust!! Was it the best cappuccino you've ever had?
Lorraine De Santis You are certainly getting to know how the other half live.
Bronwyn You sure get used to the good life over here pretty quickly - it will be hard to go back to Australia. I was was like, sure, the cappuccino has gold on it, but it's a mediocre coffee! Was good to share the ninja experience with you though, will treasure that photo :)
