Arrived yesterday afternoon after the world's longest flight. Philip after one hour "I am never flying again!" Me "we still have 13 & a half hours to go!!!"
Watched movies until couldn't see anymore, tried to sleep unsuccessfully & just generally pray for it to be over. Food was few and far between so note to self to remember to take food & drink on plane on way home!
Met up with Pete & Bron with no problems. They have an awesome 24th floor apartment at the Dubai Marina. Sorted out my phone dramas quickly & locally at the Mall of Emirates. Dinner at Chilis and yes just like home!
Today was spent at Ibn Battuta Mall. Different country themed areas. Egypt, Persia, India, china & Tunisia. Philip got great bargains at Pierre Cardin, Milly you are spoilt rotten and funny souvenirs for the boys.
Caught the Metro there. Cleanest and most efficient rail system I've ever been on.
Off to dinner now at the Dubai Marina Yacht Club. Ah it's a hard life!
