Hello everyone and welcome to our first blog of the trip.
We have arrived safely in Bangkok despite our flight being changed in Dubai (in total it took us 18 hours door to door so we were sooo tired). when we got here we had to walk down Khao San road which was like an exotic Ibiza and were a little worried when we had to walk through someones stall and down a back alley to get to our hostel. We had our first taste of street food and it was really nice.
Today we took a tuk tuk ride around Bangkok and saw a giant Budda and the driver took all over the place so he could get free fuel! We didn`t mind though as we were out for about 3 hours and it cost us 33p.
We have just booked a trip to Kanchanaburi tomorrow to see the bridge over the river quai, go swimming at a waterfall and go to tiger temple; a religious monument where you can pet tigers (pretty scary stuff, the women said they are just like cats but we don`t think they will be as soft as Oscar and Clide).
On friday we are going to Chang Mai to go on a jungle trek where there will be no electricity. Michelle is not looking forward to jungle creatures, and as if not bad enough not being able to use straightners now she can`t even wash...and it is soooo hot. in the jungle we will ride elephants and sing round a camp fire
Only a short entry as we have not even been here a day. We will be in touch soon with pictures. Dont forget to message us. Were on our way to Khrua Nopparat for some authentic Thai food - its 5:20pm and all we`ve eaten today is toast.
Love Michelle and Danny
