SINGAPORE (3rd-8th Spetember)
Singapore was our last stop on the Intrepid tour so were staying in quite a nice hotel, however, we knew that we couldnt stay there once the tour ended so we spent all day looking for a hostel. We finally found one in Little India called the Prince of Wales after hours of looking. Whilst looking Danny saw a girl from Uni that he hadnt seen for 18months walking down the street (she was only in Singapore for 1night so it was very sureal that he saw someone he knew). That night we went out to dinner and then to Clarke Quay which is a trendy area of Singapore filled with resturants and bars. After a few drinks we went out to the Ministry of Sound which wasnt as big as we had expected but was a great night out. The next day we said goodbye to the group which was really sad as we had spent all day everyday together for 2 weeks.
We went on the Singapore Wheel which is like the London eye but bigger and the views were really good, below we could see the racetrack for the F1 nightrace being built. The next day we went to Raffles where the Singapore Sling as invented for a very expensive cocktail with Almas and Rachel (the only two left from the group - who also shared the hostel room with us). That night they went home after 7months travelling and we were the only 2 left in a very expensive city.
On Sat we went to Sentosa which is a man made beach which you could get a monorail to. While we were here we took a picture of us at the most southern point in Asia and then went to the cinema to see The dark knight which we were very impressed with.
On Sunday we told our hostel we would be leaving at around 5 in the morning and they told us that no one would be at the bar till 9 so we`d have to get our deposit back the night before but never said anything else. We got up on monday morning and went out of the back door which locked behind us when it shut, we went over to the gate which had a massive padlock on! So we were trapped in the garden. We had to climb over a fence about 7ft high and throw the bags over - We had to break out of a hostel we were staying in. I cant beleive they didnt tell us it would be locked up.
Luckily we got to the airport before check in even opened (which hasnt happened before even when travelling with Dad Livingstone) and managed to get seats with more leg room - whooo.
We bought an Australia lonely planet so that we could read it on the plane. The flight wasnt too bad and we arrived in Perth at 2:30pm. We are now on the other side of the world and will be in touch very soon. xxx
