Well its been a while so we will have to try hard to remember what we have been up to.
PENANG (28-30TH August)
We left Krabi at 8am and didnt arrive in Penang until 2:30 pm, even though the buses were air conditioned it was still very hot. We didnt do much when we arrived but for dinner we went to the locals food court and then we went for a drink at a bar. We didnt drink much though because after Thailand alcohol seemed really expensive when it went back up to British prices. When we got to the bar Man City were on TV though so we got to watch the Uefa cup qualifier. After this though, despite being sober,we managed to get completely lost on the way back to the hotel.
The next day we went on a tour of Penang and went to Fort Cornwallis and heard alot about the founder of Penang. After this we went to some Buddhist temples and saw some money which Buddhist buy to burn so that they can spend it when they get to hell - whoever thought to print that must have made a bomb.
CAMERON HIGHLANDS (30-31st August)
At 6am we got a bus to the Cameron Highlands. The bus did not have air conditioning so it was very hot and the driver was a bit of a psycho - throwing the bus into corners so that it could keep its speed up the steep hills. After this we went for an Indian which cost us a pound each and then spent the rest of the afternoon on the internet. At night it was weird because it got quite cold for the first time since we had left England because we were so high up.
Before leaving the next day we went on a tour of the highlands. We went to a tea plantation and drank some of the free samples they gave out, a butterfly farm where Danny had a scorpion put on his chest and a strawberry farm where there was nothing to do but buy strawberries.
KUALA LOMPUR (31-2nd September)
We arrived in KL that evening and went to a shopping centre food court underneath the Patronas Towers. We managed to get a few good shots of the towers at night and then we headed to a bar. We didn't stay long though because we still hadnt got used to the price of drinks in Malaysia. This was lucky though because when we got back to the guesthouse we managed to catch the end of city thrashing sunderland (unlucky Graham).
The next day we caught the monorail to the Menera KL (The KL Communications Tower), which is the fourth highest communications tower in the world. The views from this were great and we were actually higher than the Patronas Towers. After this we went to some shopping centres and Michelle made her first purchase of the trip - two pairs of shoes for 25 pound (bargain!). - for all those thinking Michelle said that it was Danny who was impressed and loved shopping.
The next day Michelle got up at 6:30am to go and get in the line for the Patronas towers (danny stayed in bed) when I got there the queue wasnt even long and when I finally got my ticket I was allowed onto the bridge for 10mins and the views werent as good as the KL Tower. That afternoon we got on a coach to take us to Melaka.
MELAKA (2-3rd September)
The journey to Melaka was only 2 hours long so when we arrived we had time to go out. We got a taxi out to a temple which cost us less than a pound each so we were glad we hadnt taken the optional tour which cost 8 quid each. The guesthouse we were staying in was not the best and we had to share a bathroom with everyone else and some of the rooms were like prison cells. As well as this the owners were Muslim so we werent allowed to eat in the guesthouse during daylight and we had an 11pm curfew. The next morning we left for Singapore.
