We have finished in san francisco, after two slighty dodgy weather days! We are not complaining though. The plane across was smooth, all the better for sleep. The hotel Nikko was superb and central. We shopped and shopped, unsuccessfully i might add on thursday for shoes for brett. We went to Macy's, Neimann Marcus, ecco and every shoe store we came across. Never mind, to Italy we go and i believe they have shoes there...... We ate at my fave italian restaurant, just off union square, Scala. They have removed the worlds best gnocci and replaced by gnudi, which i had. Gorgeous fritter parcels in creamy sauce with scallopini yum.

yesterday we trammed to Fishermans wharf to catch a ferry on the bridge to bridge ride. we cruised under the golden gate bridge then around alcatraz and under the bay bridge, enjoying the views of san fran, its such a great city to look at, and in the company of the cutest dog, a yorky s***szu cross. she was divine but i cant download the foto, yet.....

anyhow then we were off to catch more trams, cable cars, and walking. had a glass of wine in union square listening to live band then off to a thai restaurant. we are about to board, so see ya in Rome!!
