Europe 2012
We were going to Giglio Island to see the cruise liner that ran aground. We got to Porto Santo Stefano, with Trish and Stefano who came down from Perugia. We all decided it was too rough and windy for the ferry so we walked the waterfront and had coffee at 'Il Moletto'. Bought fish fillets (orata-which looks the same as sea bream).
Back at Porto Ercole, we walked to town for lunch on the waterfront .
JB and MB went to church, modern by Italian standards with extraordinary ceramic sculpture and a very powerful crucifix.
MB cooked fish and early to bed

Peter McGuinness Hi Mick and Janet There is a tenor (long dead) named Beniamino Gigli (my favourite). Did he have any connection with that island ?
Alison Woodland Hi to you both. Bernard and I are enjoying reading where you have been and are going. We visited a tiny village in the mountains, called Spinette accessed through Campabasso (not sure of spelling). Very traditional and with only approx 50 people as the rest are in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland! Our Italian friends recommend Sardinia. Ciao. A & B
