Today I started off at the Sacre Coeur. A big church only a couple blocks from my hotel. The thing about Paris is that there are these vultures waiting at all of these beautiful locations preying on the kindness of the visitors. In this instance a man approached me to in my mind ask for assistance taking a picture or something. Next thing a know he is making a string bracelet anchored on my pinky and then charging me €5 for it! The church on the other hand was very pretty as you can see from the picture. Next I went to Pere-Lachaise cemetery to visit the graves of a few famous people. The cemetery was huge and the graves were tightly packed so I only managed to find two of the graves I was looking for. The first was Chopin (a famous composer) and the other was James Morrison (an American rockstar). Next I took the metro to the Arc de Triomph. It is a giant arch way that was built to honor all of the people who fought for freedom. Then I walked to the Eiffel tower. There I waited in line for about an hour to get to the top. The view was amazing! I would have liked to use the stairs to get down from the middle section but I had already done a lot of stairs and walking so I just used the elevator the whole way. At the bottom I made my way to a fountain nearby for a good view for the Eiffel tower light show that happens on the hour.
