This morning Vicky and the kids went for breakfast whilst I stayed with the dogs. We were a little worried that whilst at breakfast the cleaners might turn up, resulting in the dogs escaping. If we'd have gone for the private villa option then we wouldn't have had to worry about this happening.
After browsing the local shops in Cala n Porter we nipped back into Merlins to see if they had the information regarding the Vets. Whilst in there an Expatriate came into the bar with his dog. As he saw our two we soon got chatting. He recognised my accent and asked if we were from Stoke-on-Trent. He was originally from Lancashire, but his wife was from Etruria. He soon drew us a map of the location of the vets in Mahon followed with the contact number from behind the bar.
Once back in the apartment we managed to catch a cleaner and she confirmed that they'd be cleaning our apartment tomorrow. So went left the dogs in to cool down and we hit the beach. Josh wanted to go snorkelling with his new flippers and wetsuit. We found a walkway from the beach along the cliffs, which then dropped down to a little platform into the sea & we could easily jump off with how far we were out from the beach. The sea was lovely and warm and we spent a good hour snorkelling in the crystal clear water. Thomas had a little try but was uncomfortable because of the depth of the water. Vicky ended up taking him back to the beach & we bought him a spade from the beach shops and he was more than happy.
I was in two minds whether or not to drive over to the vets late afternoon to book the appointment, but a quick easy phone call did the job. The receptionist knew exactly what we wanted as soon as she realised the dogs were going back to the UK and we made an appointment for Tuesday at 17:30 with the English speaking female German vet! (Another job done).
After showering and few jugs of sangria whilst getting ready we hit the Beer Garden of 007, whilst the sun went down. Pito's again for dinner, whilst over the road in the square was a large orchestra playing. I had one of the biggest meals on the menu, shoulder of lamb, you get a joint of meat to yourself. After the kids and Vicky having meat off me there was also a large amount left for the dogs.
It was karaoke night in the Aloha Bar, so it was packed. As soon as we walked in we were beckoned over to the always reserved Ex-Pat table and we were invited to sit with them. The rest of the night was taken up with catching up with them all and obviously they were curious at how our trip had gone. It was also Manoli's mother's 85th Birthday. So there was also a bit of a family celebration going on. It was also lovely to see Manoli's 1st, 6 month old grandson, Felix. He is Sergio's son. ( Manoli's son, who spends a lot of time away from home as he is now a captain on an Airline in France). It's was another 2AM finish as Thomas was falling asleep!
