It was cleaning day for the cleaners of the apartments & they came to ours completely unaware about our dogs being in there & their expression was just of total surprise. We sat outside the front of our apartment whilst they cleaned & when they brushed up we were so shocked at the amount of dog hair that they had brushed out of there!!! It was like they'd got enough to make up another dog lol!! Unbelievable considering that we had already brushed the floor only the afternoon before!! It's a good job the cleaners liked the dogs & didn't seem to mind the extra mess!
It was then roof down and a day out in the car. The temperature on the dash read 33 degrees and with the wind blowing around us it was bliss. Our first stop was Sant Tomas, it was packed mainly with the Spanish. As it was Saturday I think they were all flocking to the beach to enjoy the weather. I was shocked to see a nudist couple right in the middle of everybody else. I know there's a nudist beach in Son Bou ( as I visit regularly, LoL ) I just couldn't believe this middle aged couple with all their bits out surrounded by clothed people.
We then had a run up to Es Migjorn Gran and parked up by the local school, there is a walk down to Cova des Coloms. There are a number of caves well hidden in a wooded area. Cova des Coloms is the largest cave on the island, 110 meters long and 25 meters high. We thought this would be a great place to take the dogs as the walk would have been mainly in the shade. However it was the walk from the school to the wooded area that was the problem. It was just too hot, and we didn't think it was fair on the dogs.
So it was off to Cala en Forcat to look for a replacement mug for Mr Stubbs. We managed to park on the Main Street just passed the arch, where the road train used to park. We then all had fruit smoothie's from right opposite where we'd parked. The Spanish lady who served us loved the dogs. Unfortunately the shop we needed to get the mug from was shut as they were on Siesta, so we resigned in a bar whilst the kids enjoyed the bouncy castles. After a short walk down by the Water Park and past Hotel Delfines, we walked down a little shady path to the sea, there's a fantastic inlet with platforms which you can jump / dive into the crystal clear waters. Again it was really busy with the locals. Myself and the kids stripped off and we were in. I've really been enjoying the sea on this holiday, it's usually too cold when we normally visit, during the early or late season. We'd left the towels in the car, but it didn't matter we drip dried within minutes! Upon return to the car Vicky had another smoothie, I had a strawberry cheesecake milkshake, Tom had ice cream and Josh a Pancake. We jumped in the car and had a drive along the coast road and got some fantastic pictures. ( just to mention I'm unable to upload any pictures or videos on to blog at the moment as My Apple iPhone doesn't support Flash player. Photos will be uploaded upon our return ).
It was time to head back as it was well turned 6:30pm, the shops were now open and we collected Mr Stubbs Mug. By the time we got back, showered and dress it was dark. Another late meal in Pito's, I ordered Pork Loin tonight. I always get ready for Sylvia's face in disgust as I order beans instead of veg with this particular meal. It came out with Chips, beans, two fried eggs and eight pork Loins. ( Bloody delicious ) Pito's have recently expanded, by purchasing the shop next door, the terrace is double the size it used to be and they now have tables over the road on the pavement. I don't know how they cope out of their small kitchen, we can still struggle to get a table early doors. Even with the expansion it's had now it doesn't affect the quality and quantity of the food. It was then on to the Aloha bar until the early hours.
