FRIDAY - JUNE 30****
Friday was a pretty great day! We got out of class and went home to change to go learn the Tango. I stupidly chose to wear my dancing shoes on the way to Tango... silly me, I should have brought them in my bag like the rest of them did.
Lori and I caught a taxi and met christina and andrew at an intersection near the school and caught the bus to ride to the tango class. This bus driver was crazy. I mean it's not like any of the other bus drivers have been a whole lot better, but this ride was insane, and I was wearing shoes with tacos! (tacos are the word for high heels here haha)
He'd turn the corner and I'd nearly fall on my ass, he'd stop and I'd fly forward. It was definately a scary ride.
We finally got to our stop and walked a few blocks to find the place, and to my amazement, there was a shopping abasto (mall) a block down the road. We went to have dinner in the food court, and I had a steak and some potato things. And to drink I thought I might try a little bit of wine. Amazingly it was pretty good, and I finished the whole bottle (enough for a glass and a half) and decided since I was feeling pretty good and the bottle was less than $2 American... I might get another. Christina and I both drank it right out of the bottle **see picture**.
We downed the wine pretty fast and then went over to tango. Well I don't drink very much, so these two little bottles did me well and I was already having a hard time walking, dancing was going to be an adventure.
My dance partner was Joe, a kid from class, and it took me about 45 minutes for my buzz to go away enough to be able to dance even close to okay. We did surprisingly well, and most of our class group is going to go tango dancing every friday, and maybe saturday nights until we leave. I'll post some more pictures of tango dancing when I meet up with Lori, she has some of the pictures, and one of me actually dancing.
Anyhow, this dance place was in a pretty sketchy neighborhood, and Lori and I decided to catch a taxi... which makes me feel pretty fancy by the way. You can take a taxi ride that's about as long as riding from home to east kennewick for less than $5USD -- Pretty awesome! Lori and I weren't home until almost midnight, and I set out my stuff for the trip. It was a good day!
